The Review: My first opportunity to see the Porter Cable 7424XP in use was about 2 months ago. My buddy a car detailing pro just bought one so we decided to put it through the ringer. Normally we use a rotary variable speed polisher, we have polished many cars before. We noticed that this car polisher is very forgiving, even for a novice it would be difficult to make a mistake while polishing. The random orbital feature is one that we would recommend for anyone looking to purchase a car buffer.

For our testing purposes we would be polishing a water spotted area on my wife’s black Buick Regal. We used Lake Country 5 1/2 inch pads with a 5 inch backing plate. We polished the front hood first and were finished in only about 8 minutes. We were both so very impressed and never once did we worry about any paint burn. I believe that why this car polisher is so awesome, you can move quickly and effortlessly without worry. Whereas with a rotary buffer you must be careful and take your time.
